Stanley J. Lukas
Stanley J Lukas, 77, Deerbrook, father of an Almond man, died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017, at Aspirus Langlade Hospital in Antigo.
He was born Jan. 15, 1940, in Antigo, a son of Stanley and Margaret (Diksas) Lukas. He was married to Suzanne Jicha July 18, 1964, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Antigo. She preceded him in death Sept. 17, 2014.
He was a graduate of Antigo High School with the class of 1958.
He attended University of Wisconsin-Madison, then received a bachelor’s degree from Milwaukee School of Engineering.
He lived in Menomonee Falls for several years before returning to Antigo in 1974. Mr. Lukas was employed at Waukesha Bearings and Amron before starting his own business, Glas-Tek Fiberglass, a manufacturing company he operated in Neva until retirement in the early 1990s.
In retirement, he worked for Fittante Taxidermy.
He was an avid Antigo High School sports enthusiast. He coached Little League and Legion baseball and enjoyed following his sons sporting events through their college years.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and horseback riding.
He was a member of St. Wencel Catholic Church, Neva.
Survivors include three sons, Scott (Diane) Lukas, Elcho, Michael (Nicki) Lukas, Almond, and Mark (Jennifer) Lukas, California; daughter-in-law, Kris Lukas, Libertyville, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, and a son, Steven Lukas.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, St. Wencel Catholic Church, Neva, with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Burial will take place in St. Wencel Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at the Bradley Funeral Home, 1550 Neva Road Highway 45, Antigo, and 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. A Parish wake service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
