Amherst teen achieves Eagle Scout rank
Adam Wise, Amherst, achieved the rank of Eagle Scout May 21, 2017.
A Court of Honor will be held for him in celebration Sunday, Sept. 10.
Adam is the son of Jason and Amy Wise, Amherst, and the brother of Maxim, 10, who is a Cub Scout with Pack 296.
Adam has been a member of the Boy Scout Troop 296 of Amherst chartered by St James Catholic Parish since 2012.
He is also a member of Venture Crew 214 of Stevens Point chartered by St Paul’s United Methodist Church.
Adam was elected into the Order of the Arrow in 2014, earned his Brotherhood in 2015 and continues to be an active member.
During the summer months, Adam works as a staff member at Crystal Lake Scout Reservation.
To achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, a Scout must earn at least 21 merit badges and demonstrate leadership and community service by organizing and carrying out an Eagle project.
For his project, Adam built two tables and six benches for a CCD class at St Maximilian Church.
At Amherst High School, Adam is a junior and is a member of the cross country team, track team and band. He also enjoys snowmobiling, scouting and being outdoors.
After high school, Adam plans to obtain a degree in CNC machining and welding.
