Athletes from Stevens Point Schools Special Sports participated in the Special Olympics Regional Bowling Tournament in Eau Claire last Saturday and 13 advanced to state competition.
The top three finishers in each division will move on to the state tournament in Waukesha Dec. 3-4.
First place finishers for Stevens Point were MacKenzie Kinney, Jason Larson, Nathaniel Laube, Sara Olson, Abby Shore, Jerry Slagle, Joe Sosnowski and Ray Tepp.
Picking up runner-up honors were Michael Horn and Ashley Rinka while Donn Hansen, Ali Nachman and Joe Slack finished third.
Nine participants took fourth: Wendell Dietz, Tina Doyle, Will Kessler, Ashley Knapp, Bill Koenig, Jenna Magyera, Seth Olson, Seth Schroeder and Phillip Winkleman.
Mary Hagen was fifth; Cody Dams, Lissa Hudek and Josh Soik finished sixth and Laura Rusch and Sara Warner were seventh.
