The annual soccer shootout, sponsored by the Elks 641 of Stevens Point, will be held on Fun Night, Tuesday, July 27 from 4:30 p.m. to dusk. The event will take place at Madison Elementary School Fields in Stevens Point and winners go to state competition in Oshkosh on Saturday, Aug. 7.
Medals will be awarded to the first place finishers and second through sixth place finishers will receive ribbons. The top three in each division advance to state.
Last year nine young men and women from Portage County advanced to state, including U-12 boys state champion Eric Buda.
