Former Pointer Gore signs with IHL's Kansas City Blades

Former University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point hockey star Forrest Gore is now a member of the Kansas City Blades.

The former All-American and runner-up for the NCAA Division III National Player of the Year honor in 1997-98 signed with the team on his 25th birthday. The Blades are a member of the International Hockey League, the same league that the Milwaukee Admirals call home.

Gore played for the Richmond Renegades of the East Coast Hockey League last season, scoring 48 points (24 goals and 24 assists) in 69 games.

While at UW-SP, Gore was a member of the 1997-98 NCAA Div. III runner-up. He scored 50 goals in his 56 games in a Pointer uniform and also had 38 assists. Gore also holds the record for most goals scored in a game. He set the mark Jan. 25, 1997 at the K.B. Willett Arena with five goals against UW-River Falls.

A native of Palmer, Alaska, Gore enrolled with Div. I Alaska-Fairbanks before transferring to UW-SP.
