Boys basketball: The Panthers (2-5) beat Green Bay Southwest, 51-40, in the Sentry Classic opener on Monday, Dec. 29. Ted Schlafke scored 26 points, hitting 5-of-10 from three-point range. Wes Sutton added nine points.

Girls basketball: SPASH (3-4) lost to Ashwaubenon, in their opening game of the Sentry Classic on Monday, Dec. 29. Allison Smaglik scored 13 to pace the team, and Sarah Peterson added 12.

Wrestling: The Panthers were in fifth place with 48 points after the first day of the Oshkosh On the Water Classic, on Monday, Dec. 29. Kyle Roth (103 pounds), Derek Onstad (119), Brian Novotny (130), Jon Slezak (140) and Matt Wanta (Hwt) each went 2-0 on the first day of the 48-team tournament.

Pacelli

Boys basketball: Pacelli (3-5) lost to Park Falls, 66-65 in overtime, on Monday, Dec. 29. Jake Owens scored 22 points and became the fifth player in Pacelli history to surpass the 1,000-career points mark. Jim Sadlemyer scored 14 points and Scott Herzog added 11, as the Cardinals finished 0-2 at the Sentry Classic.

The team lost to Burlington Catholic Central, 71-66, on Sunday, Dec. 28. Jake Owens scored 20 points and Jim Sadlemyer added 17. J.P. Guillemette and Scott Herzog each added 10 points apiece, as the Cardinals dropped their opener at the Sentry Classic.

Girls basketball: The Cardinals (4-3) beat Wisconsin Rapids Assumption, 48-43, at Sentry Classic on Sunday, Dec. 28. Stephanie Fischer scored 20 points, finishing 4-of-4 from three-point range. Kaitlyn Lane contributed 13 points in the win.

Amherst

Boys basketball: The Falcons (4-3, 2-3) beat Port Edwards, 58-54, on Monday, Dec. 22. Chris Page had 29 points and 11 rebounds to lead the way. James Stokes added 12 points and nine rebounds.

Girls basketball: Amherst (6-2, 4-2) lost to Wittenberg-Birnamwood, 66-40, on Monday, Dec. 22. Brittany Dick and Kelly Stolpa were the team's leading scorers with seven points apiece.

Rosholt

Boys basketball: The Hornets (8-0, 5-0) beat Marion, 57-39, on Tuesday, Dec. 23. Matt Zdroik scored 18 points and Adam Macht had 16 to lead the team. Ryan Richter added 10 points.

Almond-Bancroft

Girls basketball: The Eagles (4-3) lost to Elcho, 31-26, in their Sentry Classic opener on Monday, Dec. 29. Danielle Yonke scored 10 points and Dani Turzinski chipped in with nine.
