"We started out very strong on floor with our highest team event score this
season," said Panther coach Jill Suchowski. "That really fired up the girls. Our bar and beam scores
just weren't enough to take the championship and that was a little disappointing but we still had a strong score.
"We'll work on ironing out the kinks we had in this meet and focus on meeting
up with Rapids again this weekend at sectionals," Suchowski said. "Our goal is to finish in the top two
as a team and advance the whole team to the state tourney on March 5 and 6."
Suchowski said the team will spend the majority of the week working on beam and
bars, adding more difficulty and working on execution and form. "I'm hoping to score at least a 138 and that's
going to take some extra effort from the girls. This meet is where we need to hit - this is where it counts."
