SPASH

Hockey: The Panthers (6-1-1, 5-0-1) routed Merrill, 12-0, on Thursday, Dec 18. Tom DeWitt, Brandon Busse and Austin Wessell scored two goals apiece, and Ted Baier had a goal and four assists to lead the charge. Also scoring goals were Blake Porter, Lucas Suchon, Wade Trzebiatowski, Nate Alm and Noah Kruzitski. Isaac Zurawski stopped five shots to get the shutout.

Gymnastics: The girls defeated D.C. Everest, 131.5 to 121.425, on Thursday, Dec. 18. Kaity Munsey won the beam, uneven bars and vault, and also placed second in the floor exercise, to capture the all-around title with a score of 36.45. Jen Grubba finished second in the beam and bars, and also added a third-place finish in the floor exercise to finish second in the all-around with a score of 33.5. Mary Sue Jurgella added a third-place finish in the beam, and Jamie Rugg took third in the vault.

Boys swimming: The Panthers finished fifth out of 13 teams at the Eau Claire Invite on Saturday, Dec. 20. SPASH was led by the relay team of Josh Siebert, Evan Prince, Phillip Potter and Aaron Tetzloff, which took home a second in the 200-yard freestyle and a fourth in the 400 freestyle relay. Individually, Potter finished fourth in both the 100 and 200 freestyle, Prince finished fourth in the 200-yard individual medley, and Siebert took fourth in the 50 freestyle. Eden Prairie (MN) won the meet with 290 points, while SPASH finished with 108 points.

Wrestling: SPASH lost to D.C. Everest, 48-20, on Thursday, Dec. 18. Jon Slezak (145) won 15-2 and Matt Wanta (heavyweight) was a 12-3 winner. Kyle Roth (103) and Aaron Nelson (112) won by forfeit.

Pacelli

Boys basketball: The Cardinals (3-3, 1-3) lost to Rosholt, 54-47, on Friday, Dec. 19. J.P. Guillimette was the team's leading scorer with 16 points, and Jim Sadlemyer contributed 11.

Girls basketball: Pacelli (3-3, 2-3) lost to Rosholt, 51-47, on Friday, Dec. 19. Kaitlyn King scored 16 points to lead the girls, while Beth Boden added eight. The game was tied, 23-23 at halftime, but Rosholt outscored Pacelli 14-12 in each of the final two quarters to come away with the win.

Wrestling: The Cardinals beat Menominee Indian, 55-24, on Thursday, Dec. 18. Ben Klosinski (189) and Joe Groshek (heavyweight) won by pins, while Brian Churas (171) won 18-16 and Nate Wachowiak (215) won 16-8. T.J. Hayes (103), Nick Retzki (112), Oliver Klein (125), Jamie Klein (130) and Jake Heagle (135) won by forfeit.

Amherst

Boys basketball: The Falcons (3-3, 2-3) lost to Bonduel, 50-42, on Friday, Dec. 19. Chris Page had 15 points and Jeremiah Osborn scored 10 points to lead Amherst.

Girls basketball: Amherst (6-1, 4-1) beat Bonduel, 57-49, on Thursday, Dec. 18. Margo Borgen led in scoring with 18 points, and Teresa Green had 12 points and 12 rebounds. Brittany Dick added 10 points and Kelly Stolpa contributed five points and nine rebounds.

Rosholt

Boys basketball: The Hornets (7-0, 5-0) beat Pacelli, 54-47, on Friday, Dec. 19. Adam Macht had 15 points and 16 rebounds to lead the way, while Adam Printz scored 15. Travis Richter added 14 and Matt Zdroik ended up with 10 points, as the quartet accounted for all 54 of the team's points.

Girls basketball: Rosholt (5-3) beat Pacelli, 51-47, on Friday, Dec. 19. Brittany Yenter scored 14 points, and the Hornets hung on down the stretch to hold off the Cardinals. Jamie Scott, Amber Kuklinski and Renee Wierzba added seven points apiece.

Wrestling: Rosholt (3-1, 3-0) beat Shiocton, 51-19, on Thursday, Dec. 18. Devin Groshek (160) won by pin, and Andy Osowski (119) won 5-2. The Hornets won by forfeit in eight weight classes to propel them to victory.

Almond-Bancroft

Boys basketball: The Eagles beat Tigerton, 53-37, on Friday, Dec. 19. Austin Lamb had 19 points, including five three-pointers, and Randy Berry scored nine points and handed out 13 assists. Greg Otto added 12 points.

Girls basketball: Almond (4-2, 4-1) beat Tigerton, 34-29, on Thursday, Dec. 18. Danielle Yonke paced the girls with nine points.
