SPASH SCHEDULES FALL SPORTS REGISTRATION MEETINGS: Registration
meetings have been scheduled for athletes going out for a fall sport at Stevens Point Area Senior High School (SPASH),
as well as their parents. Incoming ninth-grade fall sport athletes should also attend one of the meetings.
The meetings will be held at P.J. Jacobs Junior High School because of construction
at SPASH.
The meeting for the football, girls swimming and girls tennis teams will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11.
The meeting for the boys and girls cross country, boys soccer and volleyball teams
will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14.
Athletes and their parents need to attend the registration meeting for their sport
if they want to be eligible for the first day of practice.

SENTRYWORLD CROWNS JUNIOR OPEN WINNERS: Luke Riordan, Ryan Prickett, Willie Hoppe and Christina Ausick captured the titles in the
2003 SentryWorld Junior Open 18-Hole Division at SentryWorld this week.
Riordan took first place in the boys 12-13-year-old flight. Jordan Brillowski was
second, Randall Zeck was third and Tony Ausick was fourth.
Prickett won first in the boys 14-15-year-old flight. Aaron Zierdt was second,
Jonathon Fremming was third, Noel Frideres was fourth, Andrew McCabe was fifth and Alex Molski was sixth.
Hoppe took the title in the boys 16-17-year-old flight. Adam Eggebrecht was second,
Jamie McKinney was third and Chris Krostue was fourth.
Christina Ausick was the winner in the girls 16-17-year-old flight. Jennifer Glodowski
was second and Jenessa Bonikowske was third.

SIX- AND NINE-HOLE JUNIOR RESULTS ANNOUNCED:
The results of the 2003 SentryWorld Junior Open results in the six- and
nine-hole division have been announced.
For the boys, for 8-9 years olds, Austin Braska was first and Mitchell Holtz second.
In the 10-11-year-old bracket, Kyle Braska was first and Jake Kubisiak second.
In the 12-13-year-old bracket, Jordan Brillowski was first and Josh Sherwood second.
Albert Theriault took first in the 14-17-year-old bracket.
For the girls, Lauren Thompson was first and Audrey Kieliszewski second for 8 and
9 year olds.
Cassandra Henning took first for 10-11, Jessica Henning took first for 12-15 and
Nicole Bries took first for 16-17.

MAY SWIMS AT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP: George May, a Stevens Point Area YMCA Master Swim Club member, recently competed in the
2003 USMS Short Course National Championships in Tempe, Ariz.
Competing in the men's age category 65-69, May took fourth in the 100 breaststroke,
fourth in the 50 breaststroke and fifth in the 200 breaststroke. He has been a member of the Master Swim Club for
five years.
The Master Swim Club is for individuals from age 18 to 70-plus years. The program
provides stroke enhancement and training for all ability levels. Team members meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from
6 to 7:30 p.m. with a coach and then lap swim practice on Saturdays from 9 to 10 a.m. Trial passes are available
at the Stevens Point Area YMCA, 1000 Division St., Stevens Point.

GOERKE STADIUM TRACK HOURS CHANGED: The hours at the Goerke Park Stadium track have been changed while the bleachers on the
east side of the stadium are getting a face lift with the installation of a concrete sealant to prolong the life
of the stadium.
While the process is in progress, the stadium area and track will be closed at
times in an effort to keep people off the bleachers. Work should be completed around Friday, Aug. 15.
The track will be open to use from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and
all day on Saturday and Sunday.
