KRUEGER RECEIVES WIAC TOM BUTLER AWARD:
University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point radio play-by-play personality Scott Krueger has been named the recipient
of the Tom Butler Award from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, annually presented to a media member
who provides outstanding coverage to WIAC athletics.
Krueger has been broadcasting Pointer sports since working with WSPT Radio as a
university student in 1978. A Fond du Lac native, Krueger has been the Pointer football and men's basketball announcer
for 25 years and also broadcasts local high school games. He was with WIZD radio the past eight years before returning
to WSPT this fall.
Krueger, who also works as a real estate agent in Stevens Point, received his award
at the conference's Football Media Day. The award has been presented annually since 1998 and is chosen by the WIAC
Sports Information Directors. It is named for former Wisconsin State Journal sportswriter Tom Butler, who was the
conference's Sports Information Director for nearly three decades.

NIENFELDT WINS NATIONAL HILL-CLIMB: Chuck Neinfeldt, Nekoosa, a well-known area Harley-Davidson rider, took first place in
the Senior Class in the National Hill-Climb held last weekend at Dickeyville.
Riding a modified Harley-Davidson Sportster that he calls "Snortster - it's
pretty fast," Neinfeldt won with the fastest time of the day on one of the two hills used in the climb. His
time was the second fastest of the day, trailing a time on the other hill.
The race was his first of the season. He tore some ligament in his shoulder in
the spring and hasn't been able to race, although he normally competed in six to 10 races each year.
He competed last weekend on a new chassis, but used his old motor. "The motor
hasn't been altered since I built it in 1988," he said.
