YMCA Dolphins take first at conference meet
The Stevens Point Dolphin YMCA (SPDY) swim team took first place at the
YMCA Conference Championship meet in Rhinelander on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 8-9. The team finished with 1,380
points. The second-place La Crosse Area Family YMCA had 1,362.5.
In addition to finishing first overall, SPDY teams won the team championships in the 9-10 and 13-14 age group divisions.
The SPDY teams took second-place in the 11-12 and 8 and under divisions.
Medals were awarded to the top six places in each event.
Winning medals for SPDY were: First place: Natalie Neuwirth (25-meter free style), Jackie Forrest (50-meter fly),
Phillip Potter (50-meter freestyle, 100-meter freestyle and 100-meter backstroke), Danielle Alinea (200-meter intermediate
medley, 50-meter backstroke and 50-meter breaststroke), Lauren Golla (200-meter intermediate medley, 100-meter
backstroke and 100-meter freestyle), Bryan Flaherty (50-meter fly) and Sharisa Hillstead (100-meter breaststroke).
Second place: Jackie Forrest (50-meter freestyle), Natalie Neuwirth (50-meter freestyle), Sharisa Hillstead (200-meter
freestyle), Alison Reitter (50-and 100-meter freestyle), Maddy Etrheim (50-meter fly), Jesse Thompson (100-meter
backstroke) and Hillary Forrest (50-meter breaststroke).
Third place: Sarah Neuwirth (25-meter freestyle), Connor Flaherty (50-meter freestyle), Morgan Hudson (50-meter
freestyle), Brittany Forrest (50-meter freestyle), Sharisa Hillstead (200-meter intermediate medley) and Kelly
Williamson (500-meter freestyle).
Fourth place: Logan Golla (100-meter freestyle), Stephanie Reitter (50-meter backstroke), Kelly Williamson (200-meter
freestyle), Hillary Forrest (50-meter freestyle), Erin Fenlon (200-meter intermediate medley), Bennett Meier (50-meter
fly), Jenna Vanharen (50-meter fly), Alison Reitter (100-meter fly), Brittany Forrest (100-meter freestyle) and
Maddy Etrheim (50-meter breaststroke).
Fifth place: Nicole Sieg (50-meter freestyle and 50-meter fly), Sarah Neuwirth (25-meter fly), Connor Flaherty
(50-meter fly and 50-meter breaststroke), Jackie Forrest (100-meter freestyle), Abby Graf (25-meter backstroke),
Kathryn Webster (50-meter backstroke and 50-meter breaststroke), Sam Schierl (25-meter breaststroke), Bennett Meier
(50-meter freestyle), Bryan Flaherty (100-meter freestyle) and Magan Golla (100-meter backstroke).
Sixth place: Allie Wiberg (50- and 100-meter freestyle), Stephanie Degen (100-meter intermediate medley), Logan
Golla (100-meter intermediate medley and 50-meter fly), Matian Koski (50-meter freestyle), Kate Vanharen (200-meter
intermediate medley) and Leah Watson (500-meter freestyle). |
