SPASH
Football: The Panthers defeated Escanaba, 21-13, on Friday, Aug. 31. (See Game of the Week, page 12)
Girls Tennis: The Panthers beat Rhinelander, 5-2, Thursday, Aug. 30. Lauren Hom, Meagan Palmer and Lindsey
Arnold won singles matches for SPASH, while the doubles' teams of Alexis Edberg-Jill Saddison and Jackie Baier-Jenna
Weinbauer won.
Girls Swimming: SPASH handed Merrill a 128-38 defeat Thursday, Aug. 30, winning all 11 events and sweeping
the top three places in five. Jesse Thompson won the 100-meter backstroke and the 50-meter freestyle. The other
Panther winners were Callie Wild in the 100 freestyle, Lynsey Martin in the 200-meter freestyle, Rachel Koehler
in the 500-meter freestyle, Emily Olson in the 100-meter breaststroke, Hillary Loomis in the 100-meter butterfly
and Sharissa Hillstead in the 200-meter individual medley.
Soccer: The Panthers dropped a 5-0 decision to D.C. Everest on Thursday, Aug. 30.
Volleyball: SPASH won all three sets against Rhinelander on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 15-4, 15-1 and 15-8. The
Panthers are 1-0 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference.
PACELLI
Girls Tennis: Pacelli defeated Marshfield Columbus, 6-1, Thursday, Aug. 30. Ashley Jurgella, Denise Lukaszewski
and Valerie Glodowski won singles matches for the Cardinals and the doubles teams of Jennifer Mitchell-Emily Swenson
and Mandy Clifford-Erin McCann won their doubles matches.
The Cardinals dropped a 4-3 decision to Wausau Newman Friday, Aug. 31. Jurgella and Lukaszewski won singles
matches for the Cardinals and Clifford and McCann won their doubles match.
On Tuesday, Sept. 4, Pacelli defeated Oshkosh Lourdes, 6-1. Picking up victories were Jurgella, Lukaszewski
and Houck in singles matches and Mitchell-Swenson, Clifford-McCann and Glodowski-Tepp in doubles matches.
Football: The Cardinals improved to 2-0 for the season, with a 14-0 victory over La Crosse Aquinas Saturday,
Sept. 1. Nate Domaszek scored a touchdown on a pass from Brad Heeg and Aehrin Cashin scored the other touchdown
on a run.
Volleyball: Pacelli started its season on a winning note over Bonduel on Thursday, Aug. 30, with a 15-4,
15-2, 9-15 victory.
Against Amherst, Tuesday, Sept. 4, the Cardinals won two of the three sets, 15-2, 13-15 and 15-9.
AMHERST
Football: The Falcons dropped a 39-7 decision to Rosholt Friday, Aug. 31. Sam Warner accounted for Amherst's
touchdown on a 42-yard run. The Falcons are 1-1 this season.
Volleyball: Amherst lost its opener to Weyauwega-Fremont, 12-15, 11-15 and 15-8, on Thursday, Aug. 30.
The Falcons won the middle of three sets, 15-13, against Pacelli Tuesday, Sept. 4, to fall to 0-2 in the conference.
The scores of the other sets were 2-15 and 9-15.

ROSHOLT
Football: Rosholt handed Amherst a 39-7 loss Friday, Aug. 31, opening up a 20-0 first-quarter lead. James
Kosmalski and Randy Printz each scored twice on passes from Brad Zdroik, Adam Macht scored on another Zdroik pass
and A.J. Wiza scored on a 2-yard run for the Hornets, who are now 2-0 on the season.

Volleyball: The Hornets came back to defeat Iola-Scandinavia on Tuesday, Sept. 4. After dropping the
first set, 11-15, Rosholt won 15-6 and 15-5. The Hornets are 1-0 in conference play.
ALMOND-BANCROFT
Football: The Eagles held on for a 14-12 victory at Tigerton Friday, Aug. 31, raising their record to
1-1. Joel Erickson connected with Gabe Lopez on a 51-yard touchdown pass for Almond-Bancroft and Jacob Warzynski
scored the Eagles' other touchdown on a 1-yard run. Dave Johnson intercepted three passes and knocked down two
more for the Eagles.
Volleyball: Almond-Bancroft dropped a three-game set to Tri-County on Thursday, Aug. 30, 8-15, 3-15 and
9-15.
The Eagles lost all three sets to Tigerton Tuesday, Sept. 4, 3-15, 0-15 and 2-15.
