MIECH RECOGNIZED BY SPORTS ILLUSTRATED: University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point women's soccer coach was recently recognized in the "Faces in the Crowd' section of Sports Illustrated for leading the Pointers to a 4-1 defeat of UW-Stout, bringing the team's league unbeaten streak to 52 games. That is a Division III record.

SEVEN HORNETS MAKE ALL-CWC SMALL FOOTBALL TEAM: Seven Rosholt football players were recently selected to the All-Central Wisconsin Conference small school division first team.

End James Kosmalski, offensive lineman Lee Schultz, quarterback Brad Zdroik and running back Randy Printz all made the team on offense, while linebacker A.J. Wiza, defensive lineman Greg Firkus and Printz (at defensive back) made the defensive team.

FOUR SPASH FOOTBALL PLAYERS NAMED TO ALL-WVC TEAM: Four Stevens Point Area Senior High school football players were recently named to the All-Wisconsin Valley Conference second team.

Wide receiver Nate Olson and running back Eric Napiwocki made the team on offense, while defensive end Jake Nantell and punter Casey Kedrowski made the squad on defense.

SPASH SOCCER PLAYERS NAMED TO ALL-WVC TEAMS: SPASH soccer players Dan Schmeeckle and Tunde Olatunji were both recently named to the All-Wisconsin Valley Conference first team.

Dan Tierney was named to the second team.

ALL-CWC LARGE VOLLEYBALL TEAM: Pacelli's Toni Johnson and Emily Radomski were recently named to the All-Central Wisconsin Valley conference large school division first team, as was Amherst's Jamie Krutza.

Amber Juris was named to the second team for Amherst while fellow Falcon Lindsey Allen received honorable mention. Pacelli's Vicky Mallek also received honorable mention.

ALL-CWC SMALL VOLLEYBALL TEAM: Rosholt high school's Allie Larson and Katie Kosobucki were recently named to the All-Central Wisconsin Valley conference small school division first team.

The Hornet's Emily Steines was named to the second team.

Rosholt's Stephanie Wierzba received honorable mention, as did Almond-Bancroft's Jade Gutke and Alicia Dill.

SPASH PLAYERS MAKE ALL-CWC VOLLEYBALL SECOND TEAM: Ashley Konopacki and Mindy Slattery were both recently named to the All-Wisconsin Valley Conference volleyball second team.

Megan Wehrwein earned honorable mention for the Panthers.
