Barry Schultz of Stevens Point won the Third Annual Standing Rocks Open Disc Golf Tournament at Standing Rocks County Park Sunday, April 29.
In winning the tournament, Schultz set a new course record with a 150, which is 21 under par, three better than the previous record of 18 under par.
In the five-hole Skin match, where the winner of each hole won $100, Schultz won the first four holes and Jon Drummond, who was runner-up to Schultz in the tournament, won the last one.
A total of 181 disc golfers from seven different states participated, coming from as far as New Mexico and Oregon.
Bill "Waldo" Stolpa, tournament director, said the participants apparently were impressed with the tournament because he was contacted by the Pro Disc Golfers Association in Ontario, which had received complimentary e-mails about it.
