Signup begins for Tomorrow River Lions baseball/softball programs
The 2001 Tomorrow River Lions Club summer baseball/softball registration forms are now available. They have been
handed out in school and can also be picked up at OK Hardware in Amherst.
The forms and registration fees must be turned in by April 15 to OK Hardware in Amherst. T-shirts and hats will
be ordered on April 18 so those turning in registration forms late will not receive T-shirts.
To help offset expenses for the program, T-shirts will also be sold for $10 and baseball caps for $6.00 to anyone
wanting to help support this program. They will be blue again this year with matching logos on the shirts and caps.
They also must be ordered at OK Hardware by April 15 and be picked up by June 1.
All registration forms should contain the grade the child will be in school next year. Also as a fund-raiser the
Lions are sponsoring a raffle limited to 300 tickets. Each ticket will cost $10, with half of the money returned
in prizes to those purchasing tickets. The remaining $1,500 will help offset the nearly $8,000 in program expenses.
Raffle tickets may be purchased at OK Hardware in Amherst or from Tomorrow River Lions club members.
T-Ball will be offered for children one year younger than in the past. This will include boys and girls now in
kindergarten and first grade who will be entering first and second grade next year. Games will be played on Mondays
and Thursdays, beginning at 6 and 7 p.m. on the small diamond in the park downtown.
There will then be a co-ed coach-pitch league for boys and girls entering third grade next school year at 8 p.m.
Mondays on the small diamond in the park.
Girls entering fourth through ninth grades will makeup an intramural softball league with games also on Mondays
