BEHNKE NAMED TO COACHING HALL OF FAME: Stevens
Point Area Senior High boys cross country coach Donn Behnke has been named to the Wisconsin Cross Country Coaches
Association Hall of Fame.
Behnke will be inducted into the hall Saturday, Jan. 13, during the association's
annual clinic at the Midway Motor Lodge in Brookfield.

GAGAS WINS WSAW AWARD: Lyndsey Gagas, a senior at Pacelli High School, is the recipient of the Women's Sports Advocates
of Wisconsin (WSAW) Award of Excellence for 2001, representing Pacelli.
Gagas is a two-sport letterwinner, with four letters in soccer and three so far in softball before the 2001 season.
She was named to the All-Mid-State Soccer Conference first team the past two seasons.
She carries a 4.004 grade-point-average and is active in numerous activities, including Class Senate, Ambassadors
and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. She is also a member of the National Honor Society, a two-time National
Student-Athlete Day honoree and performs with the pom pon squad.
The WSAW is designed to honor Wisconsin's finest female student-athletes. Gagas
and nearly 150 other award winners in the state will receive the award at the annual WSAW Awards Banquet in Milwaukee
on Saturday, Feb. 17.

ELKS HOOPSHOOT:
The Stevens Point Elks Club will be holding its annual Hoop Shoot for children through age 14 on Sunday, Jan. 14,
at the Quandt Fieldhouse, beginning at 9 a.m.
Winners will advance to the District Hoop Shoot on Sunday, Jan. 21, at the Quandt.

BREWERS ARE COMING:
The Milwaukee Brewers annual winter trip will include a trip to Stevens Point. Team officials and players will
be at the Best Western Royale from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 16.
