Boys basketball: The Panthers beat Marshfield, 68-43, Friday.

The Panthers defeated D.C. Everest, 54-39, Tuesday, Feb. 6.

Girls basketball: The Panthers beat Marshfield, 55-39, Friday behind 32 points by Janel McCarville.

The Panthers improved to 17-0 with a 74-34 victory over D.C. Everest Tuesday.

Hockey: The Panthers defeated Northland Pines in Eagle River, 4-3, in a nonconference game Thursday, Feb. 1.

Pines jumped out to a 1-0 lead, but the Panthers came back in the second period with three goals, one by Nate Alm and two by Mark Lutz. Alm's goal was unassisted but Lutz's came on assists from Joe Pavelski.

After Northland tied the score, Jimmy Haluska scored the winning goal on an assist from Zach Irons with 10:04 gone in the third period.

The Panthers beat Wausau East Tuesday, 6-3, improving their conference record to 9-5-1 and overall mark to 12-6-1.

Pacelli

Boys basketball: The Cardinals picked up a pair of wins during the week.

On Friday, they defeated Marion, 57-43. Jason Lepak led the way with 18 points, Jake Owens had 12 and Ahern Cashin added nine.

On Tuesday, the Cardinals beat Wittenberg-Birnamwood, 44-32, as nine players got in the scoring column, led by Owens with 14. Pat Schmitt and Ben Greuel were next with five each. Pacelli jumped out to a 14-6 lead after the first quarter and maintained a 23-15 lead at halftime. The Cardinals widened it to 35-22 going into the fourth quarter on Jeremy Proulx's bucket as the buzzer sounded.

Girls basketball: The Cardinals lost to Marion, 46-42, Friday.

On Tuesday, they dropped a 56-38 decision to Wittenberg-Birnamwood, leaving them 4-9 in the conference and 4-13 overall.

Wrestling: The Cardinals dropped a 47-27 decision to Bonduel in a makeup match on Monday.

Winning for the Cardinals by pins were Greg Snow at 152 and Justin Anderson at 160. The other Cardinal points came on a 7-2 decision at 145 for Simon Hesch and forfeits for Nathan Werra at 103 and Tim Schwarz at 130.

Amherst

Boys basketball: Bonduel defeated the Falcons Friday, 54-40.

Bonduel took a 16-13 lead at the end of the first quarter and increased it to 29-22 at the half. Jesse Konkol led the Falcons with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Travis Stuczynski had eight points, seven rebounds and four assists, and Tony Packer and Matt Mehne also added eight points.

"When you shoot 13 of 57 from the floor and 12 of 24 from the line, you are not going to win," Falcon coach Gregg Jensen said. "Turnovers and lack of vision when people are open don't help your cause either. We have to improve in these areas."

The Falcons also dropped a 73-52 decision to Weyauwega-Fremont Tuesday, as W-F pulled away in the fourth quarter. The score was 16-9 in Weyauwega's favor at the end of the first quarter, 35-24 at the half and 52-40 after three quarters.

Konkol led the Falcons with 20 points and six rebounds, while Mehne had seven points and five rebounds. Stuczynski and Jeremy Sherf each chipped in six points. Matt Rohde led Weyauwega with 33 points.

"Matt Rohde was too much for us," said Falcon coach Gregg Jensen. "He is a very, very good high school player."

Despite the loss, Jensen said he felt the Falcons played well. "We played better as a team than we have been playing," he said.

Girls basketball: The Falcons improved their record to 14-0 in conference and 15-3 overall, defeating Bonduel, 54-50, on Thursday, and Weyauwega-Fremont, 60-30, on Tuesday.

Almond-Bancroft

Boys basketball: The Eagles defeated Iola-Scandinavia, 60-45, on Thursday.

Girls basketball: The Eagles split a pair of games during the week.
The Eagles defeated Wild Rose, 58-36, Tuesday, but lost to Iola-Scandinavia, 66-33, Friday.

Rosholt

Boys basketball: Gresham defeated Rosholt, 55-53 Friday.
The Hornets fell to Bowler, 81-71, Tuesday.

Girls basketball: The Hornets picked up a pair of victories. They defeated Gresham, 42-12, on Friday and Bowler, 64-31, on Tuesday.
