"The Panthers once again showed the depth of their team, taking the top places in every event," said coach Mary Olszewski.

Pacelli

Boys basketball: The Cardinals dropped a pair of Central Wisconsin Conference Large Division games during the week.

On Saturday, the Cardinals lost a 54-48 decision to Manawa in a makeup game postponed from Friday. Jason Lepak led the Cardinals with 20 points, while Ben Greuel and Derrick Lepak had seven each.

On Tuesday, Bonduel defeated the Cardinals, 67-59. Bonduel took an 8-6 lead at the end of the first quarter, and increased it to 25-19 at the half. After the Cardinals closed to within five, 42-37, at the end of three quarters, Bonduel pulled away in the final quarter.

Jason Lepak led Pacelli with 21 points, Jake Owens added 16 and Greuel had 10.
Wrestling: Greg Snow earned a trip to sectionals after finishing 3-1 in Stratford last weekend. Snow lost in the finals match by one point. The 152 pounder upped his season record to 28-6 and will face Peshtigo's Jimmy Holdor (30-5) at sectionals in Edgar this Saturday.

"I think some of our young guys were a little surprised by the intensity level of a tournament like this," said Pacelli coach Jay Yenter. "I think you should see a lot of the kids that came out of this regional at the state tournament."

"I keep telling (Greg) 'We're not done yet.' He achieved one of his goals by qualifying for the sectional. If he continues to wrestle well, there's no telling how far he can go."

Girls basketball: The Cardinals managed only two points in the fourth quarter Tuesday night during their 48-32 loss at Bonduel. Kim Schulist had 12 points to lead Pacelli scorers.

"I thought going into the fourth quarter we had a good chance at a run but we just don't have the offensive personnel that can shoot with confidence," said Pacelli coach Jim Warzinik. "We did well holding them to six in the fourth, but they did better holding us to two."

Amherst

Boys basketball: The Falcons dominated a Menominee Indian team 74-34 Tuesday night in Keshena. Amherst made 34 free throws in the contest and received 17 points from Travis Stuczynski to improve their record to 15-3 overall.

"It was a true team effort and I'm proud of the crew for that," Hornet coach Alan Carter said about the regional championship. "It was a team goal, and we felt Manawa was the team to beat. Our wins had to be by pins and we accomplished that."

The team victory in the regional meet advanced the Hornets to the team sectional at Marion where they lost to state wrestling power Coleman, 50-18.

Rosholt's points came on a pin by Giese at 103, a 7-2 decision by Tom Van De Yacht at 119, a technical fall by Willie Van De Yacht at 125 and a major decision by Schulz at 189.
