Annual 3-on-3 Tournament provides for all ages

Basketball players in a variety of age groups competed in the Sixth Annual CenterPoint MarketPlace 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament Saturday, July 28, and Sunday, July 29.

The event featured 17 divisions for male and females including Co-ed and Corporate Divisions.

Proceeds from the tournament benefit the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Stevens Point Area Senior High School, Pacelli, the Point Hoops Club and the YMCA.

"We had a rather good turnout this year," said tournament co-director Jenny Quistorf. "We wouldn't have been able to be as successful without the community's help."

Quistorf said that next year the tournament beneficiaries will take over the event from CenterPoint, adding that CenterPoint only wanted to help the tournament get started. "It's an established event now that's growing in popularity," she said. "The kids and everyone involved have fun with it."
