SPASH finishes 1-2 in valley meet
The SPASH boys captured first in the Valley Indoor Track Invitational Tuesday
at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, while the girls took second.
The boys recorded 184.83 points to outdistance second-place Marshfield with 124.33 points. The girls trailed D.C.
Everest, 149-141, while finishing well ahead of third-place Wausau West, which had 90 points.
Chris Solinsky and Chase Kostichka each won two events to pace the Panther boys. Solinsky took first in the 1,600-
and 3,200 meter runs, winning in 4:22.30 and 9:37.96, respectively. Kostichka won the long jump with a leap of
21 feet, 6 inches and the triple jump with a mark of 43'3.5".
Also capturing firsts for the Panther boys were Cory Flisakowski in the 200-meter dash in 22.86 seconds, Steven
Baumhofer in the high jump at 6-2 and the 4-by-200-meter relay team.
Kosticka led a 1-2-3 Panther sweep in the long jump as he was followed by Nate Olson and Baumhofer.
Other seconds went to Olson in the 55-meter dash, Josh Kujawa in the 1,600-meter run, Phil Lazarski in the 55-meter
high hurdles, Aaron Huser in the 200-meter hurdles and Chad Erspamer in the high jump and triple jump.
The other third for the Panthers was recorded by Olson in the 400-meter dash.
Fourths went to Flisakowski in the 55-meter dash, Kujawa in the 800-meter run, Kyle Patoka in the 1,600-meter run,
Ricky Trzebiatowski in the pole vault, Adam Dow in the shot put and the 4-by-200-meter relay team.
Duncan Kasukonis got the Panthers lone fifth, tying for the spot in the high jump, and sixths went to Patoka in
the 3,200-meter run and Ryan Kawski in the shot put.
Quinn Baumberger took seventh in the 3,200-meter run, and Ryan Hoffman closed out the SPASH scoring with an eighth
in the 200-meter dash.
Amber Perri led the Panther girls, winning the 200-meter dash in 27.35 seconds and the 400-meter dash in 1:00.10.
The 4x-200-meter relay team and the 4x400-meter relay team also won their events.
Laine Willkom produced the only other victory for the Panthers, winning the 1,600-meter run in 5:40.81.
Capturing second places were Kim Klosno in the 400-meter dash, Mallory Fredrickson in the 55-meter high hurdles,
Sarah Shurbert in the long jump and Abby Ofori-Amoah in the shot put.
Third places went to Sherine Watkins in the 55-meter dash, Monica Asuquo in the triple jump and the 4x800-meter
relay team.
Fourths were taken by Kelly Konopacki in the 55-meter dash, Jackie Kropp in the 800-meter run and Willkom in the
3,200-meter run.
Taking fifth were Cassie Dudeck in the 200-meter dash, Kara Kujawa in the 800-meter run and Fredrickson in the
200-meter low hurdles.
Sixth places went to Nikki Olson in the 55-meter dash and Judy Pumper in the long jump.
Sarah Shurbert in the 400-meter dash and Kelsea Parks in the 55-meter high hurdles took sevenths and Emily Virant
closed out the scoring with an eighth in the 1,600-meter run.
