SPASH
Boys basketball: The
Panthers (0-2) fell to Wausau East Tuesday night, at home, 41-40, in the final seconds. SPASH led at halftime,
23-18, but the Lumberjacks outscored the Panthers 12-7 in the third quarter. SPASH also lost to Eau Claire Memorial
last Friday night.
Girls basketball: The Panthers (2-0) won its second straight game on the road, topping Wausau East 54-36 Tuesday
night.
Hockey: SPASH (0-1) scored two straight
goals in the first period but Wisconsin Rapids netted four unanswered goals to topple the Panthers 4-2 Tuesday
night. The loss was SPASH's first to the Red Raiders in school history.
Pacelli
Boys basketball: The
Cardinals dropped to 0-2 on the season Wednesday night in a 54-48 loss to Marshfield Columbus. The Dons clinched
the game at the free throw line, scoring 12 of their 19 points in the fourth quarter at the charity stripe. The
two teams were tied 19-19 at halftime but Columbus outscored Pacelli 16-10 in the third quarter. The Cardinals
were 10-of-21 from the free throw line while the Dons connected on 13-of-16. Jason Lepak led Pacelli with 16 points
while George McCorkell had 11.
Medford defeated Pacelli Monday night, 56-46, spoiling the coaching debut of Jody Hauser. Pacelli jumped out to
a 13-9 first quarter lead, but Medford came back to take a 30-21 lead at halftime. The Cardinals fought back in
the third quarter to narrow the deficit to 40-37, but Medford pulled away again in the fourth quarter. Jason Lepak
led the Cardinals scoring with 14 points and Ben Greuel had 10.
Girls basketball: The Cardinals
were outscored 14-4 in the first quarter and fell at Amherst 56-18 Tuesday night. Last Saturday, Wisconsin Rapids
Assumption outscored Pacelli 22-7 in the first quarter and went on to a 64-25 win over the Cardinals.
Amherst
Boys basketball: Amherst
jumped to an early lead and cruised to a 61-41 victory Tuesday night over Rosholt.
Girls basketball: The Falcons cruised
to a 56-18 CWC Large win over Pacelli Tuesday night.
Almond-Bancroft
Boys basketball: The
Eagles fell behind 29-18 at halftime and Montello topped A-B 55-45 Tuesday night.
Rosholt
Boys basketball: Rosholt
got behind 10-0 in the first quarter and never led in Amherst's 61-41 win Tuesday night at Rosholt.
Girls basketball: The Hornets had
strong second and third quarters to pull away from host Plainfield Tri-County Tuesday night.
