| Helen M. Zoromski Helen Monica Zoromski, 97, Custer, died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at the home of her daughter in Rochester, Minn. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia, with the Rev. Greg Michaud officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be at Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home in Stevens Point from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and at the church from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the Mass. There will be a parish rosary at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered online at www.pisarskifuneralhome.com. Mrs. Zoromski was born Dec. 20, 1914, in the town of Sharon, a daughter of the late Joseph V. and Mary (Werra) Platta. She attended Ellis and Polonia Sacred Heart elementary schools and graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in 1931. She was married to William Zoromski on March 29, 1943, at Sacred Heart Church in Polonia. After their marriage and the end of the war, the couple settled in Stevens Point, then built a home in Ellis (Custer) and lived there with their family from 1952 until the present. She worked in Milwaukee during World War II, sewing parachutes at Lullabye Furniture Company in Stevens Point and, for many years, worked seasonally at Wysocki Farms. She belonged to and was a past officer of the Rosary Society of Sacred Heart Church. She did many kinds of needlework and sewing and made numerous afghans and doilies for family and church raffles. Survivors include her husband; one son, David (Jeanne), Mount Horeb; one daughter, Diane (Pete) Wottreng, Rochester, Minn.; one brother, Bert Platta, Plover; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers. |
