Jean Warren, 90 mother of a Stevens Point man, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, at St. Camillus Health Care Center in Wauwatosa.
A graveside memorial and burial were held Saturday, Dec. 17, at Wauwatosa Cemetery in Wauwatosa.
Mrs. Warren was born Jan. 9, 1921, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, a daughter of the late Henry and Myrtle Smele. After the death of her father in 1922, she and her mother immigrated to the United States, settling in Milwaukee. She graduated from high school in Milwaukee in 1939 and worked as a stenographer with the Wisconsin Electric Power Co. until her marriage.
She was married to Lowell "Dennis" Warren in 1948 in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death.
She was a former member of the Milwaukee Municipal Hiking Club and a longtime member of the Wisconsin Go Hiking Club.
Survivors include two sons, Gregg (L'Aura Di Salvo), Stevens Point, and Bruce (Linda), Milwaukee, five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Arthur Cummings; and an infant daughter, Louise.
