| Joseph B. Omernik Joseph B. Omernik, 82, Stevens Point, formerly of Rosholt, died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, at North Haven Assisted Living in Stevens Point. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt, with the Rev. Marcin Mankowski officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the Mass. Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home of Stevens Point assisted the family with arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.pisarskifuneralhome.com. Mr. Omernik was born March 13, 1929, in Rosholt, a son of the late David and Lucy (Rybicki) Omernik. He attended schools in Rosholt. He was married to Caroline Budzinski on Aug. 27, 1951, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. He worked as a cheesemaker at the Rosholt Cheese Factory and later was a machine operator at Vetters in Stevens Point for 30 years before retiring. Survivors include his wife; one son, Daniel, Stevens Point; one daughter, Dawn (Ken) Johnson, Iola; three sisters, Sophie Koziczkowski and Vickie (Ralph) Tuskowski, both of Stevens Point, and Marge Ostrowski, Iola; and one grandson. He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Anton Zywicki; and one sister, Mary Schmidt. |
