David J. Nelson, 42, Plover, died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, following a battle with cancer.
A celebration of life was held Wednesday at New Hope Community Church in Junction City, with Pastor Erv Volkmann officiating.
Visitation was at the church Wednesday.

Mr. Nelson was born Sept. 12, 1969, in Cannon Falls, Minn., a son of Betty and Cal Galloway. He spent his early childhood years on his family's farm in Ladysmith. He attended Stevens Point Area Senior High School.
He was married to Gale Boursier on Sept. 4, 1999.
He was employed at Prairie Star Ranch, and he and his wife were the resident apartment managers of the Porter Place Apartments in Plover prior to his illness.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Justin Nelson, his parents, Junction City; one sister, Ranae (Keith) Kramer, Junction City; his grandfather, Jim (Dorothy) Parker, Ladysmith; and his mother-in-law, Jane Boursier.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Gary Nelson; and an infant stepson, Jared.
