Leona I. Loberg

Leona I. Loberg, 78, Amherst Junction, town of New Hope, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at Nelsonville Lutheran Church in Nelsonville. Interment will be in North New Hope Cemetery in the town of New Hope.

Visitation will be at Voie Funeral Home in Iola from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and at the church from 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, until the service.

Mrs. Loberg was born Jan. 3, 1933, in the town of Franzen in Marathon County, a daughter of the late John and Johanna (Ostrowski) Wroblewski.

She was married to Norman Loberg on Nov. 5, 1951, at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt. He died on Jan. 27, 2004.

She worked at Stratton's Nursing Home, Upthagrove's grocery store and Kachur's restaurant, all in Nelsonville; Meadow Inn Restaurant, Amherst; and Del Monte Foods, Plover; and she did maintenance at Rosholt School and home health care for many years.

She was a member of Nelsonville Lutheran Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Bonnie (John) Jastromski, Stevens Point, Carol (Bill) Patoka, Amherst, Sandy (Bruce) Wolberg, Iola; one son, Willie (Luann), Amherst Junction; three sisters, Gladys (Larry) Kluck, Stevens Point, Agnes (Leroy) Milanowski, Custer, and Alice (Hank) Wierzba, Rosholt; one brother, Norb (Judy) Koziczkowski, Rosholt; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, John; one daughter, Rhonda; her stepfather, Ambrose Koziczkowski; one brother, Eugene Wroblewski; and four sisters, Rosanne, Delores, Rita Wroblewski and Mary Jane Pezewski.
