Clifton "Clif" Kunde, 89, a Portage County native, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, due to complications from hip surgery.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at Cress Funeral Home in Madison.
Visitation was at the funeral home Tuesday, Jan. 3.

Mr. Kunde was born June 19, 1922, in Portage County, a son of the late Frederick and Ada (Bremmer) Kunde. He grew up in Stevens Point, where he graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1940.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Hawaii.
Following service, he attended the University of Wisconsin, where he earned a bachelor of business administration degree with a major in accounting. He briefly worked for the state of Wisconsin in Appleton. He became an internal auditor for the Wisconsin Power and Light Co. (now Alliant Energy) in 1953, where he worked until his retirement in 1984.
He was married to Isla Mae Becker on June 19, 1948, in Stevens Point.
He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church since its early days. Over the years, he has served as greeter and usher; he also used his accounting expertise as a trustee.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Kathleen (Rick) Levy and Shari Brush; and two grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy; one brother, Don; and two grandsons.
