| Eugene R. Domaszek 1Eugene R. Domaszek, 81, Amherst Junction, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at the Portage County Health Care Center in Stevens Point, while under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia, with the Rev. Greg Michaud officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the Mass. A general rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Shuda Funeral Services of Stevens Point and Plover assisted the family with arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.shudafuneral.com. Memorials may be made in his name to the American Diabetes Foundation, American Heart Association and Sacred Heart Parish. Mr. Domaszek was born Feb. 28, 1930, in the town of New Hope, a son of the late Raymond and Martha (Studzinski) Domaszek. He grew up in the Amherst Junction area and attended Malloy School in the town of New Hope and schools in Thiensville. He was married to Wanda E. Karch on Sept. 30, 1950, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. Following their marriage they farmed 45 years together on the Karch family homestead. In addition to farming he hauled milk for the Borden Milk company and for eight years drove school bus for the Rosholt School District. He was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Gary (Chong Suk), Wrightstown, Alan (Kay), Stevens Point, and Patrick (Sue), Amherst Junction; two daughters, Louise (Arlen) Denk, Rockton, Ill., and Carol (Mark) Busse, Amherst Junction; one brother, Robert (Bernie), Stevens Point; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by one brother, James. |
