Raymond 'Tony' Disher

Raymond "Tony" Disher, 62, Stevens Point, died Monday, Dec. 12, 2011, at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point, with Dwaine Habrat officiating. Full military rites will be performed after the service.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. Friday until the services.

Mr. Disher was born Dec. 26, 1948, in Stevens Point, a son of the Raymond and Wanda (Rzentkowski) Disher. He graduated from Pacelli High School in 1966 and began working at the paper mill.

He entered the U.S. Army on May 19, 1969, in Milwaukee. He earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged Jan. 17, 1972, in Oakland, Calif.

After service, he returned to Stevens Point and his career at the paper mill, retiring this past February after 43 years of service.

He was married to Star Webie on April 12, 1969, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Todd and Cory, both of Stevens Point; two sisters, Donna (Ralph) Olsen, Stevens Point, and Debbie (Clifford) Pflugradt, Green Bay; one brother, Michael (Debbie) Disher, Stevens Point; and four grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Greg.
