Regina F. Bricco

Regina F. Bricco, 71, mother of four Portage County residents, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, following a long battle with cancer.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Mill Creek, with the Rev. Andrzej Panek officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be at Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home in Stevens Point from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and at the church from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the Mass. A general rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bricco was born Sept. 15, 1940, in Phlox, a daughter of the late Lawrence A. and Bertha (Sippl) Schmidt.

She was married to Roger W. Bricco on June 28, 1958, in 29 Palms, Calif. He died on Nov. 26, 1975.

She was employed for 16 years at Sentry Insurance and 13 years at Herrschners, from which she retired in 2002.

Survivors include seven daughters, Christine (David) Schulfer and Connie (friend AJ Leppen) Bricco, both of Stevens Point, Brenda (Andy) Pientka, Tomahawk, Sandy (Gary) Bennett, Independence, Mo., Wanda (John) Ebel, Custer, Doris (Rich) Erler, Wausau, and Yvonne (Ryan) Brown, Chippewa Falls; one son, Bill (Missy), Stevens Point; two brothers, Elmer (Bev) Schmidt, Kewaunee, and Dennis (Julie) Schmidt, Appleton; two sisters, Audrey (Roger) Meulemans and Debbie (Harlin) Klinge, both of Kaukauna; 20 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death one son, Ronald; two brothers, Fred Schmidt and Carl Schmidt; and two grandchildren.
