Frank J. Shirek, 63, 3817 County Trunk N, Junction City, formerly of Mosinee, died Monday, March 8, 2010, at his home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Milladore, with the Rev. Gus Bentil officiating.
Visitation will be at Beste Funeral Home in Mosinee from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday and again from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday. A prayer service will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Shirek was born Feb. 14, 1947, in Marshfield, a son of Tillie (Vakoc) Shirek and the late Frank Shirek.
He was married to Phyllis Marciniak on May 8, 1971.
He served in the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam.
He was employed as a truck driver for Schuld Manufacturing in Mosinee and then WH Transportation in Wausau until his illness in July of 2004.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Christopher (Sara), Mosinee; three daughters, Tracy (Dane) Martin, Mosinee, and Vicki (Rob) Landwer and Wendy Lane, both of Junction City; his mother, Tillie Shirek, Stevens Point; three brothers, Don (Barb), Plover, Gary (Jeanette), Vesper, and Dale (Kim), Junction City; three sisters, Sharon (Robert) Hollar and Ruth (Dennis) Danczyk, both of Stevens Point, and Janice (Len) Rozek, McMinneville, Ore.; and six grandchildren.
