Janet Marie Schneider, 57, Amherst, died unexpectedly on Saturday, March 6, 2010.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. James Catholic Church in Amherst, with the Rev. Robert Pedretti officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery in the spring.
Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the Mass.

Ms. Schneider was born Feb. 28, 1953, in Wisconsin Rapids, a daughter of Rita (Huhn) Schneider and the late Eugene Schneider.
She was married to Roy Sook.
She was employed in the insurance industry for 30 years from entry level positions to upper management positions, receiving multiple licenses and a CPCU designation along the way.
She received an undergraduate college degree.
After retirement, she began a master of arts degree program at Cardinal Stritch University and received her degree in medieval history. She taught college courses for Lakeland College.
She was a member of the American Historical Association, Stevens Point Area Genealogical Society and various other historical and genealogical organizations.
Survivors include her husband, Roy Sook, Amherst; two daughters, Anne Helke, Madison, and Jonette (Brad Kleiber) Sook, Jefferson; her mother, Rita Schneider, Port Edwards; three brothers, Eric (Kathy) Schneider, Cedarburg, James Schneider, Mosinee, and Daniel (Margaret) Schneider, Plymouth, Mich.; two sisters, Mary (Richard) Hotchkiss, Wisconsin Rapids, and Patty (William) Frey, New Freedom, Pa.; and three grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Matt Helke.
