Ronald Beebe Roberts services

A graveside service for Ronald Beebe Roberts will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2010, in Mosinee Cemetery.

Mr. Roberts, 75, Fort Wayne, Ind., a former Stevens Point resident and brother of a Stevens Point woman, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010, in Fort Wayne.

Mr. Roberts was born Jan. 13, 1935, in Janesville, a son of the late Justin Parker Beebe and Dorothy (Rockman) Beebe. The family lived in Chicago, Milwaukee, Madison and Plainfield, before settling in Stevens Point in 1940. He attended P.J. Jacobs High School and began a hobby that became a career - radio and television communications.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

After service he worked as a disc jockey in Marshfield. Following that, he worked at radio stations in Fort Wayne, Ind., Toledo, Ohio, Findlay, Ohio, and Battle Creek, Mich. He became "the weather man" at WAOK-TV in Rhinelander and WANE TV in Fort Wayne. He retired from Knight-Ridder as a communications installation specialist.

He was married to his wife, Nora, 31 years ago.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Kelly Ann (Timothy) Hale, Austin, Texas; one sister, Karen Beebe (Robert) Engelhard, Stevens Point; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
