William C. Hinner

William C. Hinner, 78, Weston, father of a Stevens Point man, died Saturday, March 6, 2010, at his home while under the care of Ministry Home Care-Hospice Services.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mark Parish in Rothschild, with the Rev. Allan L. Slowiak officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery in Wausau.

Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the Mass.

Mr. Hinner was born Nov. 2, 1931, in Wausau, a son of the late Ernest and Wilma (Hintz) Hinner.

He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was married to Rita Kaziak on May 21, 1955, at St. Therese Catholic Church in Schofield. She died in 1995.

He farmed all his life on the family homestead and also worked at Weyerhaeuser Paper Co. prior to his retirement.

He was a member of the Mosinee Branch of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include three sons, Bill, Stevens Point, Jim (Ann), Madison, and John (Deb), Rothschild; three daughters, Peggy (Paul) Kaetterhenry and Patti (Mike) Flaker, both of Hatley, and Jackie (Joe) Jansen, Marathon; one brother, Roger, Merrill; four sisters, Delores Scheel, Rothschild, JoElyn Daul, Mosinee, Geraldine (Earl ) Oster, Milwaukee, and Carol Kuske, Green Bay; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra; and one grandson.
