Elaine N. Heeg

Elaine N. Heeg, 83, 2001 Riverview Ave., Stevens Point, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at St. Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stevens Point, with the Rev. Al Burkhardt officiating. Entombment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Wisconsin Rapids.

Visitation will be at the Pisarski Community Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 2911 Plover Road, Plover, from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. A general rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

A memorial in her name instead of flowers will be established at a later date.

Mrs. Heeg was born April 26, 1926, in Stevens Point, a daughter of the late Raymond and Ruth (Grant) Hotchkiss. She attended schools in Plainfield and graduated from Plainfield High School.

She was married to Richard L. Heeg on Feb. 18, 1947, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nekoosa.

The couple lived in Nekoosa, Berlin and most of their married life in Pittsville where they raised their family. They have resided in Stevens Point the past 11 years.

She worked at Allis Chalmers during World War II, building parts for the war effort. She also worked at the Nekoosa Edwards Paper Co. in the Port Edwards office and was administrative assistant for the Pittsville Schools for 24 years until her retirement.

Survivors include her husband; four sons, Conrad (Pamela Kolenz), Three Lakes, John, Stevens Point, Gregory (Linda Glenn), Edgar, and Jeffrey (Pamela Akkerman), Wisconsin Rapids; one daughter, Pamela (Thomas) Jensen, Stevens Point; two brothers, Clifford (Mary) Hotchkiss, Tomahawk, and Herbert (special friend Shirley), Hotchkiss, Orlando, Fla.; one sister, Leah Radloff, West Bend; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Belva Roby, Ione Tomlinson and Mildred Cole; and one brother, Orville Hotchkiss.
