David W. Karr
David Walter Karr, 97, a Manawa native and a former salesman at a Stevens Point company, died Wednesday, June 23,
2010, at Davis Health Care Center in ilmington, N.C., after a short illness.
Celebrations of his life were held Friday, July 30, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stevens Point and Saturday,
July 31, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa. Burial was in Manawa.
Mr. Karr served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
In his early years, he taught in a one-room schoolhouse at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa. He later worked
as a salesman for Vetter Manufacturing in Stevens Point and then partnered in a manufacturing company, Trail-et,
Manawa.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; two sons, David and Greg (Cheryl); one daughter, Kay (Jim); five grandchildren;
and one great-grandchild. |
