Ceil M. Slattery

Ceil M. (Worzella) Slattery, 91, a resident at Our House in Wisconsin Rapids, a Plover native and mother of a Plover man, died Friday, July 23, 2010, at Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids, with the Rev. William Menzel officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Wisconsin Rapids.

Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the services.

Mrs. Slattery was born Jan.16, 1919, in Plover, a daughter of the late John and Rose (Woznick) Kazmiercak.

She was married to Leo Worzella on July 26, 1941, in Stevens Point. He died on Dec. 18, 1966.

She was married to Bernard Slattery in May 1969 in Wisconsin Rapids. He died in February 1998.

She was employed at JC Penney catalog department in Wisconsin Rapids for 16 years.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church, the Catholic Women's Club and the Catholic Daughters of America.

Survivors include one son, Donald, Plover; one daughter, Nancy (Jerry) Kramer, Boulder Junction; two stepsons, Jim (Bert) Slattery, Torrance, Calif., and Will (Lorraine) Slattery, Waukesha; one stepdaughter, Noreen (Cam) Hubanks, Oregon; two sisters, Betty Hoffman, New Mexico, and Vicki (Mitch) Policht, Wisconsin Rapids; four grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, two sisters, three grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
