| Joyce P. Mancl Joyce P. Mancl, 86, a resident at the Bethel Center in Arpin and the mother of two Portage County residents, died Tuesday, July 27, 2010. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 31, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Milladore, with the Rev. Donald Berg officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the services. Higgins Funeral Home of Wisconsin Rapids assisted the family with arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.higginsfuneralhome.net. Mrs. Mancl was born Nov. 26, 1923, in Marshfield, a daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Pryatel) Braunsky. She was married to George Mancl on Oct. 27, 1945, at St. Mary's Church in Auburndale. He died on July 11, 1977. She and her husband farmed for 32 years in Milladore. She also worked for Mancl's IGA for 18 years. She helped the Rev. John Wisneski for 25 years and was an active member of the St. Wenceslaus Parish and St. Wenceslaus PCCW. Survivors include two sons, Ronald, Nekoosa, and Gerald (Diane), Wisconsin Rapids; eight daughters, Shirley (Jerome) Derfus, Marshfield, Marlene (Art) Scheel, Granton, Martha (Ray) Wisniewski, Custer, Charlene (David) Neinfeldt, Wisconsin Rapids, Sara (Rhody) Lazare, Stevens Point, Carol Kowieski, Rudolph, Judy (special friend, Larry Jackan) Mancl, Rudolph, and Diane (special friend, Dick Roth) Greiner, Nekoosa; one sister, Cecelia Pancratz, Delavan; two brothers, Jerry (Laurene) Braunsky, Auburndale, and Robert Braunsky, Arpin; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two expected great-grandchildren in November. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Jim. |
