Alice G. Drifka

Alice G. Drifka, 93, Plover, died Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover, with the Rev. James Trempe officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Wednesday.

Pisarski Community Funeral Home of Plover assisted the family with arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at

Mrs. Drifka was born Oct. 2, 1916, in Rosholt, a daughter of the late Joseph and Johanna (Platta) Wanta.

She was married to Joseph Drifka on June 27, 1936, in Milwaukee. He died on Jan. 6, 2006.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, James (Andrea) and William (Pat), both of Stevens Point; one daughter, Carol Orlik, Stevens Point; one sister, Lorraine Kirchner, Milwaukee; two brothers, Clarence (Rose) Wanta, Las Vegas, Nev., and Fred Wanta, Crivitz; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.
