Robert R. Carey, 40, Loveland, Colo., a former Amherst resident, died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 14, 2010, in Loveland, Colo.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 29, at Peace Lutheran Church in Amherst, with the Rev. Gretchen Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Amherst.

Mr. Carey was born July 17, 1969, in Stevens Point, a son of Carol (Trzebiatowski) and the late Dale Carey. He was a 1988 graduate of Amherst High School.
During high school he placed second in the state wrestling tournament. He also played football.
He was a big-game hunter.
He was employed as a machinist.
Survivors include one son, Chase Dale Carey; his mother, Carol (Robert Sr.) Lea, Amherst; three brothers, Reynold (Tina) Carey, Lafayette, Tenn., Randall (Tracy) Carey, Amherst, and Robert (Shawn) Lea Jr., Amherst Junction; uncles; one aunt; and nieces and nephews.
