Raymond N. Wroblewski

Raymond N. Wroblewski, 77, Stevens Point, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at his home.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Pisarski Community Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Plover from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and at the church from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until the Mass. There will be a combined veterans ritual of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans at 6:45 p.m. Monday, followed by the parish rosary at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Wroblewski was born Feb. 28, 1932, in Stevens Point, a son of the late Martin and Katherine (Ludwikowski) Wroblewski. He attended schools in Stevens Point.

He was a Korean War veteran. He entered the United States Army on Dec. 10, 1952, in Milwaukee. He served as a sergeant with the 378th Engineer Combat Battalion. He received the Korean Service Ribbon with one Bronze Service Star, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Merit Unit Commendation and the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged on Nov. 2, 1954, at Fort Sheridan, Ill.

He was a truck driver for CW Transport for more than 25 years until this retirement in 1988.

He served as a volunteer firefighter for the village of Plover for many years.

He was a member of American Legion Plover Post 543, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Plover Post 10262 and the Disabled American Veterans Schumann Heink Post 30.

Survivors include one son, Jeff, Plover; one daughter, Lori (Bruce) Schoenherr, Mosinee; two sisters, Clara and Josephine Suchon, both of Stevens Point; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
