Karen K. Warner

Karen K. Warner, 55, Almond, a former School Board member, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010, at her residence.

A Christian funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John Lutheran Church in Almond, with Vicar Brian Roehrborn officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.

Mrs. Warner was born July 11, 1954, in Wisconsin Rapids, a daughter of Kenneth and Emily (Hutkowski) Pagel.

She was married to Reed Warner on June 5, 1976, at St. John Lutheran Church in Almond.

She had worked at the Union Telephone Co. in Almond for the past five years. She also had worked at the Almond-Bancroft Schools, Bancroft State Bank and Citizens Bank.

She had been a member of the School Board, Partners in Education, RIF and the Booster Club treasurer.

She received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in political science, during which she studied in England for a semester and traveled throughout Europe.

She volunteered for many school and sports tournaments, including donating the lights for prom for many years.

She was a lifetime member of St. John Lutheran Church in Almond.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Tyler and Brian (Lisa), both of Stevens Point, and Brandon, Evansville, Ind.; her parents, Kenneth and Emily Pagel, Almond; one sister, Cathy Zanto, Wautoma; and two brothers, Dennis (Cindy) Pagel and Alan (Mickie) Pagel, both of Almond.
