Thomas R. Saxelby, 78, Fontana, a former Sentry Insurance executive in Stevens Point, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Fontana.
Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, until the Mass.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family suggests memorials to St. Jude's or VNA Hospice.
Toynton Walworth Funeral Home in Walworth is assisting the family.
Mr. Saxelby was born May 6, 1931, in Chicago, Ill., a son of the late William E. and Josephine (Burke) Saxelby.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He was married to Therese McGreal on Jan. 21, 1956, in Chicago, Ill.
They lived in Stevens Point and he worked at Sentry Insurance. He retired as vice president of Sentry Insurance.
He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Fontana.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, William (Pamela), Libertyville, Ill., and Thomas (Lisa), Johnsburg, Ill.; two daughters, Sharon Saxelby, Chicago, Ill., and Kathleen Vetter, Wausau; one brother, William E. (Betty), Lamont, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Mary Catherine Gibson.
