Marie C. McGown

Marie C. McGown, 80, Green Bay, a Stevens Point native, died unexpectedly Monday, Jan. 18, 2010, at her home after a five-year battle with cancer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6 p.m. Thursday at St. Jude Catholic Church in Green Bay, with the Rev. Timothy Brandt officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum in Green Bay.

Visitation will be at the church from 4 p.m. Thursday until the Mass.

Mrs. McGown was born Nov. 22, 1929, in Stevens Point, a daughter of the late Stanley and Regina Krutza.

She was married to Harlow J. McGown on Oct. 9, 1948, in Stevens Point. He died on June 1, 2003.

She was employed at St. Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point in the Medical Records Department. After moving to Green Bay in 1970, she was employed at the Green Bay Clinic.

She was a member of St. Jude Parish in Green Bay.

Survivors include one son, John (Barbara), Mosinee; two daughters, Judy Rucinski, Green Bay, and Susan (John) Schmidt, Hobart; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Stanley Krutza, Richard Krutza and Raymond Kostuck.
