Ada Doris Maxwell, 88, Wisconsin Rapids, an Amherst native, died Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at Wellington Place in Wisconsin Rapids.
Graveside services will be held at a later date in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Wisconsin Rapids.
Memorials may be designated in her name to the Alzheimer's Association.
Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home in Wisconsin assisted the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Maxwell was born Jan. 4, 1922, in Amherst, a daughter of the late William and Melvina (Cadwell) Hathaway.
She was married to Gordon Maxwell on Dec. 23, 1942, in Milwaukee. He died on Sept. 26, 2001.
She worked as a medical assistant for Dr. Schaller until her retirement.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Auxiliaries.
Survivors include one daughter, Penny Heineck, Middleton; one son, Mark (Marla), Wisconsin Rapids; three grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Albert, Alex and Arnold Hathaway; and four sisters, Alice, Helen, Susie and Ethel.
