Edwin Kaminski Sr.

Edwin Kaminski Sr., 93, 7595 Merryland Drive, Rosholt, a former owner of the Merryland Ballroom in the town of Sharon, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010, at St. Michael's Hospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia, with the Rev. Marcin Mankowski officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Monday until the Mass. The St. Isadore Society, of which he was a longtime member, will lead a general rosary to be prayed at 10 a.m. Monday at the church.

A memorial will be established in his name at a later date in lieu of flowers.

Mr. Kaminski was born July 28, 1916, in Rosholt, a son of the late John and Mary (Ksioszk) Kaminski.

He was married to Loretta R. Zynda on May 10, 1941. She preceded him in death.

After living in Chicago and Milwaukee, they owned and operated Merryland Ballroom in Rosholt from 1951 to 1973. He was also employed as a mason at Ellis Stone.

Survivors include one daughter, Diane (Ronald) Engelbert, Appleton; four sons, Michael (Joan), Norman (Malinda) and Kenneth (Rene'), all of Rosholt, and Alan (Harold Fix), Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Rose Schrader, Milwaukee, and Theresa Hullin, Stevens Point; two brothers, Hubert (Frances), Stevens Point, and Raymond (Joan), Sturgeon Bay; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one son, Edwin Jr.; two sisters, Sophie and Clare; and three brothers, Barney, Hank and Edward.
