Phlauris Q. Hocking

Phlauris Q. Hocking, 91, Bancroft, died Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, at the Wild Rose Manor in Wild Rose.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home in Plainfield.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday and again from 10 a.m. Monday until the services.

A memorial for the United Methodist Church in Plainfield has been established.

Mr. Hocking was born Jan. 5, 1919, in Bone Gap, Ill., a son of the late Roy and Clara (Woods) Hocking.

He was married to Minnie Hacker on May 24, 1941. She died on March 28, 2006.

They moved from Westmont, Ill., to the Bancroft area in 1956.

He was a carpenter most of his life and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Plainfield.

Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Hocking, Stevens Point, and Linda (Dale) McLarnan, Almond; three sons, Roy, Wisconsin Rapids, Richard, Rosholt, and Raymond (Cheryl), Amherst; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
