| Agnes R. Groshek Agnes R. Groshek, 63, Highway 161, town of Amherst, died unexpectedly Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover, with the Rev. James Trempe officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Cemetery in Fancher. Visitation will be at the Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and at the church from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Thursday. A general rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel. A memorial in lieu of flowers will be established in her name. Condolences may be offered online at www.shudafuneral.com. Mrs. Groshek was born April 28, 1946, in Stevens Point, a daughter of the late August and Doris (Gierszewski) Bemke. She attended local schools and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1964. She was married to Paul Groshek on July 31, 1965, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. She was a homemaker, raising their four children. In 2001 she began working part-time at Fleet Farm and has been employed there since. Survivors include her husband; four children, Kevin (Tina) Groshek, Wisconsin Rapids, Carla (Eric) Gagas, Custer, Craig (Anna) Groshek and Cory Groshek, both of Plover; four sisters, Catherine Wanta, Stevens Point, Eleanor Spitzenberger, Eau Claire, Frances (Richard) Brown, Plover, and Theresa (Arvid) Cummings, Salton City, Calif.; four brothers, August Bemke, Anthony (Rita) Bemke and Walter (Judy) Bemke, all of Stevens Point, and Edward (Diane) Bemke, Greenfield; one half-sister, Ann Pieczynski, Michigan; and two grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two half-sisters, Sue Grubba and Josephine Bemke; and two infant siblings, Mary and John. |
