| Franklin R. Eastman Franklin R. Eastman, 72, Almond, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Almond United Methodist Church in Almond, with the Rev. David Leistra, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in First Belmont Cemetery in the town of Belmont. Visitation will be at the church from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and again from 10 a.m. Saturday until the service. A memorial has been established to the Almond United Methodist Church Trustees in his name in lieu of flowers. The Hardell-Holly Funeral Home of Almond is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.hollyfuneralhome.com. Mr. Eastman was born June 9, 1937, in Wild Rose, a son of the late Kenneth and Lucille (Williams) Eastman. He was raised on a farm near Parfreyville in Waupaca County until the age of 8 when his family moved to a farm near Almond. He was married to Judith DeBruin on March 14, 1964, in Almond. He farmed near Blaine in Portage County until he started working at the Georgia Pacific Paper Mill in Nekoosa. He was employed with the paper mill for more than 32 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of Almond United Methodist Church and had been chairman of the Trustees for many years. He was also a member of the Rod and Gun Club of Almond. He was also a Civil War enthusiast. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Caroline Eastman, Almond, and Patricia (Wally) Tomczak, Iola; one son, Timothy, Almond; two brothers, Richard (Maureen), Wautoma, and Neil (Doris), Almond; two sisters, Adora (Merle) Turner, Almond, and Marieta (Jeff) Huff, Kenosha; and seven grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two infant sons, Daniel and Edward. |
