| Elroy Arnold Christiansen Elroy Arnold Christiansen, 66, Edgar, brother of a Plainfield man, died at his home Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John Catholic Church in Edgar, with the Rev. Robert Streveler presiding. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and again from 10 a.m. Saturday until the Mass. Memorials may be directed to St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Edgar or Aspirus Regional Cancer Center in Wausau or Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services in Wausau in lieu of flowers. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home in Edgar is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.petersonkraemer.com. Mr. Christiansen was born Aug. 6, 1943, in the town of Frankfort in Marathon County, a son of Martha (Gribowski) Christiansen and the late Sebastian Christiansen. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was married to Lynn D. Ludwig of Colby in 1968. They made their home in Edgar, where they have resided for the past 42 years. After service, he was accepted into the State Indentured Electrical Apprenticeship for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and retired as a union electrician after 41 years. He was a life-long member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife; one son, Clinton (Kimberly), Woodbury, Minn.; one daughter, Renee (Steven) Andress, Cedar Hill Tenn.; his mother, Martha, Marshfield; three brothers, Kenneth (Kay), Plainfield, Garry (Barbara), Mosinee, and Kevin (Geri), Fenwood; one sister, Patricia (Ardell) Emon, Stratford; and two grandchildren. |
